Mandy, Dana, Mecke, Amarylis, Jenny, Craig, Sabrina, Julia, and other friends came to Juna's on Friday, October 4, 2002. Mina did the door. Our emcee was Harriet, part of the most admirable team at the 2002 rust belts regionals. Jeni came later.

We had an open mic. Isa, Rich-o-recchia, May, Spencer, Andrew Chang, Bari Berger, and Brandon read. James read later.

Edward Garcia and F. Omar Telan came up from New York City to feature. They call themselves the FiLatino tour. They were excellent.

A new poet did the calibration poem for the slam. She was good, but I can't remember her name. The slammers were Teresa Behan, Rudy Nuñez, Karl, Spencer, Mental, Lukas, Livers, and Liz Bishop. Liz took first. Livers came in second. Spencer came in third.
