Some good friends and poetry lovers came to Juna's on Friday, January 3, 2003. There was a big snowstorm and a blackout on the commons. Juna's was closing due to lack of electricity. Becky Austin and Jeffree Paul St. John came from Detroit to feature. Mina, Amaryllis, Bill, Jean, and some others also came. We went to the space of Mina's old shop, and did poetry there. Becky, Jeff, Amaryllis, and I took turns reading. I read, "I should have left last night" and my "Life Journal." Becky, Jeff, and I stayed over at Mina's.

The next night, we had a slam. Sabrina and others came. Becky, Jeff, Harriet, Jay, and I slammed. I read, "How cold is it" and my "Life Journal." Jeff, Harriet, and Becky placed.

After the slam Becky, Jeff, and I hung out and talked poetry. Madeline's was closed.
