Marty McConnell came up from NYC to feature and emcee. Marty is famous in the slam
world for being a 2000 National Poetry Slam finalist and also for being the
slammaster at Bar 13, Union Square, NYC. She was wonderful.
Poets who placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or fourth in semi-final slams competed in the
grand slam to be on Team Ithaca 2003. Those poets were Brandon, Liz, Livers,
Ben, Andy, and Jeni. Ben won. Liz and I tied for second. Brandon was the
people's choice. Jeni is the alternate.
After the slam some of my friends and I hung out and talked poetry.
