Stacy Smallwood, aka Exodus, from South Carolina featured. It felt like our little venue had been kissed.
Exodus emceed the slam. Kimari kept score. Zev, Matt, Karen, and I slammed. Zev won. Matt came in 2nd. I came in 3rd. Karen had to leave to go to work before her second poem. Since I was already qualified, Zev, Matt, and Karen qualified for the semi-final in December. I did a piece about the St. Patrick's Day 4, and also the piece I did at Nationals, "Where's Your Family." My friend Melissa came with her friend Joe. They and Kimari helped with the hat and choosing judges. Stacy's friend was wonderful.
