The open mic was excellent. Brian, Zoe, Sarah, Kelli, Andy, Richard, and other poets read.
Then the slam. Mina was the emcee. Sarah calibrated, Amanda kept score. The slammers were: Andy, Richard, Zoe, and Brian. Brian went first and won the round with a 29.4 - wow! Andy did "Vincent Delicious" and came in second in that round. Richard and Zoe tied for third. Zoe won the second round. Andy came in second with "Who Stole My Diary." Brian and Richard both had higher scores, but went way overtime. Zoe won the slam. Brian still came in second, even with the overtime. We each did one more poem just for fun. Then Amanda closed the evening with her beautiful tribute to Kate.
The audience was huge and the energy was great. Some of my friends came, including Cindy with Inga and Eric, and Eric's friend, and Eric's friend's mother - Michelle. Emily came, and the newlyweds - Michael and Kelly, and lots of Kate's friends, including Luke.
